Student's Motorbike Portrait Reveals Unplaceable 'Face' in Rear Seat of Parked Car

A UNIVERSITY CAMPUS — A Reddit user posting to r/Paranormal has asked the board's readers to examine a photograph taken in 2023, in which, the author says, something appeared in the back seat of a car behind them that they cannot account for.

According to the post, the author had just arrived at a local university for classes and asked a former girlfriend to photograph them on their bike, having judged the moment worthy of record. The author did not notice anything amiss until the following day, while editing the picture.

The author concedes that the image suffers from artefacting, caused by movement and low light. Even so, the post argues, most other people in the frame are clear enough to be recognised as human beings. The figure in the rear seat, by contrast, is said to bear barely any resemblance to a face.

The author adds that on the night of the photograph a storm broke while they were riding home, leaving them thoroughly soaked. The post does not claim the weather and the image are connected, though the detail is offered without comment.

A screenshot of the camera and image specifications has been shared to encourage discussion. The post offers no conclusion of its own and states plainly that the author does not know how to explain the matter. Readers of a practical bent may note the author's own mention of motion blur and poor light, conditions under which cameras are known to render faces unconvincingly.
