Ribbed Dress Said to Have Lowered Its Neckline Without Notice

A Reddit user reports that a two-year-old garment now bears a plunging neck, despite one purchase record and a thorough search of the closet.

Strangeness 2 of 5

A newcomer to the r/Glitch_in_the_Matrix forum has laid before that community what she calls a glitch of her own: a dress that, by her account, altered its neckline while hanging in her wardrobe.

According to the post, the author bought the garment online roughly two years ago. It had a very high, modest neck, she writes, and she says she holds photographs from about a year ago to prove it. After several months of leaving it unworn, she took it out again and wore it. Only days later, lying awake, did it occur to her that the neck was now low cut.

The author states that apart from the neckline the dress is identical to her recollection: same color, same ribbed material, same bell sleeves, same length. She says she considered that she might own two dresses, but has found only one, despite searching her designated dress area about five times. She also reports checking her online orders and bank records, which, she says, show a single purchase, listed with the high neck.

The poster also anticipated the obvious explanation. Wearing the dress backward, she argues, would be impossible, since it has a corset-style tie at the back that would sit across the midsection if misplaced, and it cannot be laced to the front.

In the end, the author says she is telling herself she simply owned two dresses and lost one, though she adds that this would be out of character, as friends and family joke about her good memory. The post offers no further resolution, and the photographs were to be placed in the comments.
