Wolf Sighting at Snake River Said to Fulfil Prophecy; Visitors Expected in Three Months

A Reddit user asks fellow experiencers whether a viral video's claim of a 200-year-old Idaho prophecy holds any water.

Strangeness 2 of 5

A video circulating on TikTok has prompted a request for information on r/Experiencers, where a Reddit user posted on October 9 asking whether a purported Native American prophecy about a wolf is genuine. According to the post, the video shows a wolf drinking from an outdoor body of water while a narrator speaks.

The narrator, as the poster describes it, states that more than 200 years ago a medicine woman in Idaho foretold that a wolf with black, brown and white fur would appear on tribal lands and be seen drinking from the Snake River. When this occurred, the prophecy is said to hold, the "sky cousins" would descend in three months and raise humanity to the stars.

The poster says they are unfamiliar with the video's creator, who goes by the handle nunchakusdragon, and with the prophecy itself. They invited readers to supply any additional information.

In an edit, the author asked specifically for input from people knowledgeable about Native American culture and history. The author noted that a quick internet search suggested the wolf prophecy may not be authentic. They added, however, that much Native American history is preserved orally and may therefore not appear online, which was their reason for asking.

The post's comments were not part of the material reviewed, and no verification of the prophecy, the wolf, or the location of the footage was offered. Readers wishing to mark their calendars are advised that, by the post's reckoning, the appointed hour falls in early January.
