Helicopter Said to Circle Hovering Object Above Los Angeles Neighborhood

LOS ANGELES, CALIF. — A video said to show a helicopter circling a motionless unidentified object above a residential district has been posted to the r/HighStrangeness forum on Reddit, where it is offered to readers as a puzzle in want of a solution.

According to the post, the footage was filmed in Los Angeles, California, on August 8, 2019. The title states that the helicopter circles around the object, which it describes as a UAP, or unidentified anomalous phenomenon, hovering in place over a neighborhood of homes.

The author, a Reddit user posting to the forum, writes that the object matches the 'irregular-organic' category of UAP outlined in the Immaculate Constellation report. The post does not explain that category further, and the report is not otherwise described in the material at hand.

The post offers no identification of the object, no account of who filmed the video, and no explanation of why the helicopter was in the vicinity. Nor does it say whether any mundane explanation, such as a balloon, a drone or debris, has been considered. Whether the helicopter was in fact responding to the object is, likewise, left to the viewer.

The author closes with a plain appeal: anybody with additional context regarding the sighting is asked to share it. At the time of writing, the post's own text supplies no further particulars.
