SECOND SIGHT
Migraine Sufferer Reports Vision of Distant Friend's Curled Hair and Two White Clips
A poster on r/remoteviewing says a three-year-old episode of pain and closed eyes produced a detailed image of a friend 200 miles away, later confirmed by text.
THE INTERNET — A Reddit user posting to r/remoteviewing has described what they regard as a single instance of remote perception, occurring three years ago during a migraine that, by the author's account, had lasted at least four hours.
According to the post, the writer lay curled on a sofa with eyes shut and knuckles pressed to the temples when a clear image appeared of a friend, shown from the shoulders up and slowly rotating. The author says the picture was clearer than ordinary sight, down to eyelashes and pores. What stood out, the writer states, was the friend's unusual curled hair, held back in front by two white clips.
The author sat up, then lay back down because of the pain, and the image returned. Feeling, in the writer's word, silly, the author texted the friend, who lives 200 miles away, to ask whether she had curled her hair. The friend replied at once, according to the post, with a photograph showing the curls and the clips, and explained that she had been curling her daughter's hair. The writer concludes that the vision was real but somewhat scrambled.
The poster adds that the episode was the first and last of its kind, though not the only unusual experience. The author describes seeing, while walking a Manhattan street, a man putting them in a chokehold from behind about three minutes before it happened, and says they were prepared to react. Two weeks ago, the post continues, a strong feeling that a new acquaintance had a birthday proved, by that person's account, to be two days away.
The author says they feel no control over any of it. The post offers no independent verification, and the account rests on the writer's memory of events three years past. Readers may note, as the author does not, that migraine is known to be accompanied by visual disturbances.
