Missing Work Phone Reappears on Kitchen Counter in 1912 Home
A homeowner of four uneventful years reports that a vanished phone returned to its usual spot after a thorough search.
THE INTERNET — A Reddit user posting to r/Paranormal describes what the author calls a first incident in a house built in 1912, where they have lived for more than four years without experiencing anything unusual. The author adds that the house was blessed shortly after the move, "just for the hell of it."
According to the post, the author keeps a strict routine on arriving home. Keys go on a hook, a work cell phone is set on the kitchen counter, and a wallet, business card holder and eyeglass cleaning rag are stacked on top. The writer reports that the phone stays home unless they go to work.
On the Saturday in question, the author hosted friends for desserts and coffee, cleaned up, and then attended a local hockey game. Returning around 9 p.m., the author says the phone was not on the counter. The floor, the drawer below and the underside of the rag turned up nothing.
The author then called the phone from a personal device and heard no ring. A walk out to the truck, a second call and another search of the vehicle likewise came to nothing, the post states. Worried about paying for a replacement, the author planned to check the bedroom next.
On re-entering the kitchen to rehang the keys, the author writes, the phone was sitting on the counter in its usual place. The writer reports staring at it, mouth open, for about a minute, then calling it once more. It rang, and the author says the sound was clear.
The post offers no explanation, and it does not say whether any of the guests might have moved the phone earlier. The author closes by noting that this is the first such incident since moving in.
