Faceless Figure Paces Toddler's Cot on Baby Monitor, Bromsgrove Parents Report

BROMSGROVE, WORCESTERSHIRE — A Reddit user posting to r/Humanoidencounters has described a night in 2020 when, by the account given, a silhouette walked repeatedly to the cot of the author's young daughter, as seen on a baby monitor in their council house near Birmingham.

According to the post, the family had lived quietly in the early-1960s house for two years before a spell of odd events began in the summer of 2020. The author lists knocking on walls and doors, a doorbell alert with nobody on the path, kitchen taps found running, and a phone that began playing a song from a late grandfather's funeral. Interference on the monitor and other devices is also reported.

The central episode came near 3 AM. The author, awake in bed, says a white mist crossed the monitor screen before a figure with distinct arms and legs, but no features, walked to the cot, looked in, and walked away, over and over. The author's partner was woken and watched in silence for what was probably a couple of minutes.

When the partner ran into the nursery, with the author following armed with a baseball bat, the child was reportedly asleep and the room undisturbed, with no menacing atmosphere. The figure was said to be still on the monitor, fading, until the author reached for a phone to film it. The activity, the post says, stopped afterward.

The author acknowledges the everyday explanations of monitor glitches, reflections or outside shadows, but notes the bedroom backs onto gardens with no road and that the curtains were drawn. A local vicar, the post says, suggested a previous elderly resident who died in the house might need help moving on. Her grandson reportedly recalled nothing odd there.

The author leans toward a protective presence, perhaps the partner's late grandfather, citing a later song that played unprompted in a car. The author, who says they document paranormal incidents, invites others with similar monitor sightings to share them.
