Ex-Army Sniper Tells Podcast of Hotel-Room Tale of Deadly Underground Clash Near Area 51
Nick Betts says a man in a Polish hotel, after sealing the phones in a microwave, described a team's fatal encounter with three reptilian beings; none of it has been verified.
WARSAW, POLAND — A former U.S. Army sniper has told a podcast audience that a drunken hotel-room confession in Poland left him with a secondhand account of a deadly underground encounter with reptilian beings near Area 51, and, he says, with a lost job. The claims are unverified and rest on the word of one man repeating what another man allegedly told him.
According to Liberation Times, Nick Betts recounted the story on the Liberty Risk podcast, released on 5 December 2025. Betts said he was travelling in Eastern Europe to film a documentary about the war in Ukraine, accompanied by a friend he called "Ranger", a storyteller, an older man and another companion. While the older man slept elsewhere, the storyteller arrived with four bottles of wine. When Ranger raised the subject of aliens, the man at first declined to answer, then gathered everyone's phones and placed them in a microwave, which Betts described as an improvised Faraday cage.
The storyteller then described a deployment years earlier, said to have occurred while he served in an unnamed squadron at Fort Bragg. His unit, he said, was on quick reaction force duty when it was recalled from a bar, put on an aircraft without a briefing and flown to a hot destination. There, the men were allegedly met outside a hangar and taken to a secure facility, where they were told they were at Area 51. Security staff at a nearby underground installation had stopped their radio checks, they were told, and a first response team had also gone silent.
Betts said the second team was issued unfamiliar weapons that took no magazines, described as a high-energy weapon system, and flown by Black Hawk to the entrance. After a tunnel, a long hallway and a horseshoe-shaped passage, with a strong sewer-like smell, a man on the outer flank was allegedly struck in the chest by a similar weapon and killed. The attacker, Betts said, walked on two legs, looked mildly reptilian and had fingers. The team returned fire and, as had allegedly been forecast, killed three beings. Betts guessed six men had entered; the storyteller gave no headcount.
