SANTIAGO DE CUBA, CUBA — A Reddit user posting to r/Experiencers has described two childhood encounters with a creature he identifies as a Grey, both said to have taken place near his home in a semi-rural part of Santiago de Cuba. The author, who says he is now 34 and lives in the United States, writes that he still becomes emotional when he recounts the events.

In the first, according to the post, he was about 10 and walking with a friend roughly four years his senior to buy ice cream at about 8:00 PM. He says he felt watched and saw, some three meters away behind a chain link fence, a crouching figure he estimates at 1.2 meters tall. He describes a large head, huge shiny black eyes, no visible nose, mouth, ears or hair, long thin arms, and pale skin. The boys ran; looking back, the author says, they saw it watch them briefly before walking toward the rear of the building, where a hill is said to hold wartime tunnels.

THE INTERNET — A video posted October 16 to the YouTube channel of CBS News, and shared the following day by a Reddit user posting to r/UFOs, has drawn the attention of that forum's readers. According to the video's description, Jay Stratton, former director of the Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Task Force, joined the network to discuss what he knows about UAPs.

The occasion, the description states, is the publication of Mr. Stratton's new book, titled "Out of the Shadows: Revealing the Truth About Non-Human Intelligent Life." The title alone indicates the position the author is taking, though the description itself does not summarize the book's contents or its evidence.

TUCSON, ARIZ. — Astronomers using the James Webb Space Telescope say they have watched water clouds grow thicker and thinner on a distant brown dwarf, an observation that, according to the report, resembles the changing weather of Earth.

The object, known as WISE 0855, lies about 7.5 light-years from Earth. Per an Oct. 8, 2026, announcement from the University of Arizona, a team led by Brittany Miles of the university's Steward Observatory monitored it for 11 hours, taking infrared spectral measurements every 15 minutes. The findings were published in The Astrophysical Journal.

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA. — A Reddit user posting to r/HighStrangeness has broken a years-long silence, recounting a daylight encounter with what the author describes as a floating "structure" over the Virginia Beach shoreline.

According to the post, the sighting occurred while the author was driving, probably in the summer of 2017, though the writer is not certain of the date. The object, the author states, resembled a hashtag symbol, with a single horizontal line crossed by six or seven slanted vertical ones.

CULVER CITY, CALIF. — A 1974 haunting in a cramped bedroom in Culver City, California, has been revisited by the Weird Darkness podcast, which describes the case of Doris Bither as the one that inspired the film The Entity.

According to the episode notes, Dr. Barry Taff and Kerry Gaynor called on Mrs. Bither on August 22, 1974. She was a single mother who said three invisible beings were attacking her. The investigators doubted her account, the notes say, until they saw bruises across her body.

AUSTRALIA — A Reddit user posting to r/Paranormal has appealed for advice about a house that, according to the post, has gone from running joke to genuine alarm. The author says the matter was first raised in several occult and witchcraft forums and that the post is a crosspost, with a few images added.

The author writes that objects fall from counters in other rooms, noises are heard without cause, cords drop from sockets and switches are flipped without anyone touching them. Items placed in a fixed spot, sometimes checked three times, are said to disappear. The writer reports losing three pairs of glasses in a month, each left in the same place before bed and gone by morning. The post was typed, the author notes, with the phone held nearly against the face.

LONDON, ENGLAND — A new piece published by the paranormal-interest website Spooky Isles turns its attention to the private spiritual leanings of Diana, Princess of Wales, and finds, according to its summary, a good deal more traffic with the unseen than the public record might suggest.

According to the article's summary, the princess consulted mediums who claimed to be able to contact her dead loved ones. The piece does not, in the portion made available to this newspaper, offer further particulars, and no names, dates or messages can be reported here.

THE ASTRAL PLANE — A channeled message published October 18 on the website Era of Light, introduced by a speaker who calls herself Lilith, Ninth of Nine, offers readers what it terms a new perspective on 'the crystal winds.' The text carries a credit to Espavo.org and invites free circulation.

The message begins with geography. According to the text, the Bodélé Depression in Chad, an ancient lakebed, releases fine dust carrying the remains of microscopic aquatic organisms. Some of this dust, it states, crosses the Atlantic to feed ocean phytoplankton and the phosphorus-poor soils of the Amazon basin.

THE OUTER SOLAR SYSTEM — Pluto ended its retrograde phase on Thursday, October 15th, according to a post published October 18th on the astrological site Era of Light. The author notes that the planet lingers at one degree for an inordinate time when it stations, and that even its forward progress is glacial, as befits the outermost watcher of the Solar System.

The post reports that Pluto stands at 3° of Aquarius, where it forms a 90° square, which the author calls an aspect of conflict and dissonance, with retrograde Venus in Scorpio. The aspect is said to become exact on October 20th and to reach a culmination with the Full Moon of October 26th. It is the second of three such squares this season, the writer states, the first having fallen on September 15th and the third due December 9th.

THE INTERNET — The paranormal website Higgypop has published what it calls the full results of a survey on Ouija boards, accompanied by a headline suggesting that the public's view of the instrument has been shaped by its negative portrayal in popular culture.

The only figure legible in the material at hand is that 58 percent of respondents, according to the page, described the Ouija board as a "tool for communicating with spirits." The line appears twice in the scraped text, and the question wording, the number of respondents and the remaining answer categories are not included.

GALLATIN, TENN. — According to an episode of the Weird Darkness podcast, farmer David Lang waved to two men in a buggy on the afternoon of September 23rd, 1880, took one more step across his open pasture near Gallatin, and was gone in the middle of it.

The story goes that five people watched: his wife Emma, their two children, and the two men in the buggy. Seven months later, the account continues, the children heard their father's voice calling for help from a circle of grass at the spot.

EAST-CENTRAL ALASKA — Archaeologists led by Kelly Graf of the University of Kansas report new findings from a site in east-central Alaska that they date to roughly 13,800 years ago, according to an article in The Debrief. The team says the evidence may help explain how early peoples crossed from Asia to the Americas, a question the report describes as hotly debated.

The site, called Shég' Xdaltth'í', is rendered from Athabascan as "They were there." It was formerly known as McDonald Creek. According to the report, it lies in a region holding 19 sites older than the Clovis culture, which appears in the record about 13,200 years ago. Those sites, the team notes, are spread across an area slightly larger than the state of Maryland. The researchers call the region the densest concentration of pre-Clovis and Clovis-age archaeology in the Americas.

LOW EARTH ORBIT — Astronomers have announced what they describe as the first known green star, a body catalogued as WD J1330+6435 and situated some 326 light-years from Earth, according to a report by T.K. Randall of Unexplained Mysteries, which drew on coverage by Space.com.

The object was originally a white dwarf, the report states, and is said to have acquired its color after accreting material from a nearby planet. Most stars, including most white dwarfs, behave as what research team leader Mark Hollands of the University of Warwick called 'perfect radiators,' their color set almost wholly by temperature.

THE INTERNET — A Reddit user posting to r/HighStrangeness has put a question to fellow readers that astronomers have not, so far as the record shows, been asked to answer: did anyone else record the lunar wave?

According to the post, the answer is yes. The author recalls that a YouTube channel called Crow777 captured something similar. The post does not describe the footage in detail, nor does it include a date, location or equipment used, leaving the nature of the so-called wave to the reader's imagination.

APPALACHIAN MOUNTAINS — A woman living alone in a modular home in the Appalachian mountains has told readers of r/Paranormal that something tried to force its way into her house late on a recent night. The author, who describes herself as 34, says she remains badly shaken.

According to the post, she had turned off the living room light near 11 p.m. and was installing a game update with earbuds in when her cat Rosie bristled, flattened her ears and snarled in a way the author had never heard. Removing one earbud, the woman says, she heard heavy banging and scraping at the front door, which was moving under the blows.

4CHAN /X/ — An anonymous poster on 4chan's /x/ board opened a thread this week with a question that has detained philosophers for centuries: what, precisely, is the "Cosmic Joke"? According to the post, the author once watched reality "literally re-arrange itself" and indicate that he was the cause. He adds, with some candor, that he had taken roughly 1000 micrograms of LSD at the time, though he does not believe the experience was coincidence.

He asks whether he is himself the joke, and whether that would make him God. The thread has drawn 26 replies so far, and the community has responded with the range of opinion customary to the board.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The administrator of NASA, Jared Isaacman, has declined to rule out the existence of alien life, according to a report in the Daily Star, saying the public must remain open minded as reports of unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP) climb.

Mr. Isaacman, speaking in a recent interview with Blake Burman on NewsNation's "The Hill," suggested that the rise in reported sightings in recent years might reflect greater knowledge, or simply a public more willing to accept that life could exist elsewhere. The report says he described it as important to keep such possibilities in view.
