Hashtag-Shaped Object Reported Drifting Over Virginia Beach Shoreline in Broad Daylight

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA. — A Reddit user posting to r/HighStrangeness has broken a years-long silence, recounting a daylight encounter with what the author describes as a floating "structure" over the Virginia Beach shoreline.

According to the post, the sighting occurred while the author was driving, probably in the summer of 2017, though the writer is not certain of the date. The object, the author states, resembled a hashtag symbol, with a single horizontal line crossed by six or seven slanted vertical ones.

The author is admirably frank about the limits of the account. The object might have been a satellite, the post concedes, but the writer reasons that such a craft would hardly be visible so clearly, at so low an altitude, in the middle of the day.
