Former Sniper Claims Soldier Slain by Reptilian in Secret Battle Under Nevada Desert

A podcast co-host says a drunken confession in Poland, and a pre-dawn encounter the next morning, revealed a hidden energy-weapon firefight near Area 51.

A former United States Army sniper has put forward an account of a clandestine underground battle near Nevada's Area 51, in which an elite American soldier was allegedly killed by a reptilian alien. According to the Daily Star, the claim comes from Nick Betts, co-host of the Liberty Risk podcast, who says he heard it secondhand from a veteran of the military's Joint Special Operations Command.

Mr. Betts says the veteran, whom he does not name, told the story during a night of heavy drinking in Poland. By his telling, elite troops were summoned from Fort Bragg, North Carolina, and issued high-tech energy weapons. Their task was to hunt three otherworldly invaders said to have stormed an underground complex near the famous site.

The operation was allegedly set in motion after the facility went radio silent and a quick-reaction force sent inside vanished without a trace. Mr. Betts says a six-man squad was flown in by Black Hawk helicopter and sent deep into the tunnels, where trouble began the moment they met the entity.

The creature, as relayed by Mr. Betts, was bipedal and mildly reptilian in appearance, yet had fingers and carried a weapon system. He says it fired a directed-energy blast that struck the soldier on the outside left of the formation squarely in the chest, killing him. The squad is said to have killed all three invaders in the end.

Tim Gallaudet Voices "100% Confidence" in Grusch Testimony in Newly Surfaced Clips

A Reddit user posting to r/UFOs shares previously unseen excerpts in which Gallaudet endorses claims of visitation and crash retrieval programs.

Strangeness 2 of 5

A Reddit user posting to r/UFOs has shared what is described as new, previously unseen clips from a conversation with Tim Gallaudet, in which he is said to express firm belief in the claims of David Grusch, the former intelligence official who has alleged the existence of hidden UFO programs.

In the excerpts, as transcribed in the post, Gallaudet states that humanity is being visited by non-human intelligence possessing technology "we really don't understand," and that the visitors' intentions are equally unknown. He frames the matter as one of the great questions of the age: whether mankind is alone. "And we're learning we're not," he says.

Denver Haunting Behind 'The Changeling' Headlines Two-Hour Halloween Broadcast

Weird Darkness Radio's latest archive program ranges from a mansion near Cheesman Park to werewolf trials, Ouija boards and the long history of the witch.

A two-hour Halloween program from Weird Darkness Radio opens in Denver, where, according to the broadcast's summary, composer Russell Hunter said that in 1968 he rented the Henry Treat Rogers Mansion near Cheesman Park. He reported a hidden room of a sickly boy's belongings and séances that led to a grave beneath a house on South Dahlia Street.

His account, the program notes, became the 1980 film The Changeling, starring George C. Scott, red rubber ball included. The summary adds a caution: no record places Hunter in the mansion. It also observes that Cheesman Park was laid out over an old cemetery, where workers still turn up skeletons.

A message attributed to the Pleiadian Fifth-Dimensional Collective was posted on October 19 to the website Era of Light, where it is credited to the channel Octavia Vasile. According to the text, it was sent "from the heart of the Great Central Sun."

The message states that the planet has entered a great turning, which it describes not as a continuation of any earlier cycle but as a quantum leap. Humanity, it says, is not climbing a staircase but dissolving it entirely, to become the light that builds new structures from within. The collective adds that as consciousness expands the veil thins, and that old paradigms woven from fear, comparison and control will fracture.

Blogger Nominates 1987 Carpenter Chiller for 'Hall of Fame' After Late-Night Rewatch

Christopher Knowles of The Secret Sun writes that 'Prince of Darkness', long half-forgotten, hooked him 'like a fish' on a recent viewing.

Christopher Knowles, author of the Substack The Secret Sun, has published a candid account of his uneasy relationship with the films of John Carpenter, and of one picture in particular that, he writes, has lately taken hold of him.

By his own telling, Mr. Knowles has never placed the director in his personal pantheon, though he has seen most of the filmography. He credits 'Halloween' with giving him the most terrifying night of his moviegoing life, outside of 'Invasion of the Body Snatchers'. He saw 'The Thing' at the drive-in, and calls 'They Live' evergreen. Others fare less well: he likes 'Escape from New York' only moderately, did not care for 'Escape from LA', and wishes he had liked 'Ghosts of Mars'.

Hobbyist Wires Circuit to Houseplants, Wonders Whether the Leaves Are Saying Something

A poster on r/Experiencers reports that sounds drawn from plants' electrical signals shifted with touch and sometimes seemed to follow no pattern at all.

Strangeness 2 of 5

A Reddit user posting to r/Experiencers has described a year spent listening to plants, and says the work has altered their view of what it means to communicate with other forms of life.

According to the post, the author built an electrical circuit to serve as what they call an interface between two realities. Connected to a plant, the device translates the faint electromagnetic signals of a living organism into sound and touch, since sight, the author notes, would require some consciousness-altering substance.

Late Father's CD-ROM Backup Yields Photo of Slow Lights Over Arizona Mountains

A Reddit user sorting through a deceased parent's garage archive asks fellow enthusiasts what a 1998 snapshot near Tucson might show.

Strangeness 2 of 5

A Reddit user posting to r/UFOs reports that, while clearing the garage of a father who died about three months ago, a spindle of backup CD-ROMs came to light, and on one of them a photograph that has held the author's attention ever since.

According to the post, the discs date from roughly 2003 or 2004, when the father had a local photofinishing shop digitize older 35mm rolls. The folder name places the image near Tucson, Arizona, in late 1998, during one of many road trips the father took for his construction work. The author is unsure whether the camera was a Minolta X-700 or a Canon AE-1, recalling chiefly its heavy manual 50mm lens and the click of its shutter.

The author concedes the claim sounds ridiculous, and asks readers to hear them out before the post is, in their expectation, removed from the Internet.

According to the post, the information comes from acquaintances with high-ranking government jobs, who in turn know people who "know things." The author adds that nobody knows who these people are. No documents, names or evidence were offered.

CURIOSITIES

Times Index Compiler Found to Have Filed Headlines Instead of Subjects

A mystified reader's letter in 1890 revealed that Samuel Palmer's index entries were often little more than the newspaper's own captions.

Strangeness 1 of 5

According to Futility Closet, the index to the London Times in the 19th century was compiled by one Samuel Palmer, a man of what the site calls an unusual method of working. The peculiarity apparently escaped general notice until 1890, when a reader named Corrie Thompson wrote to the journal Notes and Queries to complain.

Thompson supplied several examples. A report on a boy sentenced for stealing a twopenny pie, the post says, was indexed under "Atrocious Criminal." A floating chapel that broke loose from its moorings was filed under "Disgraceful Act," while a storm at Saône-et-Loire appeared as "Fatal Storm." A spell of dry weather became "Present Dry Season."
