Campers Find Outsized Paw Print, Then Hear Howl Loud Enough to Cover Ears

THE WILDERNESS, FOUR MILES UPHILL — A camping trip arranged to impress a girl has taken a turn for the worse, according to an episode of the Weird Darkness program Midnight In The Macabre, broadcast on October 26, 2026 under the title "Werewolves in the Clearing."

The episode's description introduces two friends, Dex and Trey, who persuade a third friend to join a few days in the woods. The site, it says, comes recommended by Dex's cousin and lies four miles uphill from the car. Also attending, the summary notes, is a girl on whom Dex has apparently harbored a crush for nearly a year.

Matters grow less romantic on the second day, when the party finds a paw print said to be wider than Trey's spread hand. That night, the account continues, a howl rises out of the darkness so loud that the campers must cover their ears.

The episode is based on a Reddit story titled "Werewolves Are A**holes," credited in the program notes to a Reddit user. The material offered gives no indication that the events were anything other than fiction, and what the campers ultimately did about the howl is left to listeners. The cousin's recommendation, it may be observed, has not been independently reviewed.
