Green Strip in Old Family Photo Said to Show Elderly Woman's Head in Motion

A Reddit user posting to r/Paranormal says a snapshot of their father has defied explanation for roughly two decades, though a poster on the wall has already shortened its age.

Strangeness 2 of 5

A photograph of a father, long kept in the family, has been submitted to the r/Paranormal community by his child, who reports that nobody in the household has been able to account for what it shows.

According to the post, the author did not know what to make of the image when the father first produced it. On zooming in, the author says, a green strip across the top of the frame appears to contain the head of an elderly woman, moving from left to right and turning toward the camera as she goes.

The author adds a second observation: near the back of a chair on the right-hand side, the same green light seems to come from a wall outlet. The post does not say whether the light has been connected to any lamp, device or camera artifact, and offers no further details about where or how the picture was taken.

The story has since acquired a note of correction. In an edit, the author relays that another reader noticed the poster in the background appears to be a map from the video game Grand Theft Auto IV. The author concludes that the photograph is closer to 18 years old than the 20 first claimed.

The author does not say whether the revised date has altered the family's view of the mystery. The post offers no mundane explanation for the green strip itself, and the matter, for now, remains with the commenters.
