WOODLAND WATCH
Village Woods Hold Weathered 'Wood Witch' Figure, Thirty Years Standing, Reports Poster
A Reddit user asks r/Paranormal whether a carved female figure forming a gate in the forest might lead somewhere other than the next clearing.
NEAR AN UNNAMED SETTLEMENT — A Reddit user posting to r/Paranormal has asked the board's psychics and the curious for help identifying a carved structure discovered in the middle of the woods near the author's settlement. The post, titled "Where does this gate lead?", was published on October 29.
The author begins with a note of clarification: their country is not Christian and does not observe Halloween, so the timing of the inquiry, it seems, is coincidence rather than celebration.
According to the post, villagers questioned about the object were unanimous in their answer. Everyone, the author writes, knows the figure as the wood witch. The author did not name the settlement or the country.
The writer says they kept their distance out of fear, but describes the figure as having a blunt, roughly worked body while the face is carved with great care. The structure is reported to have stood for more than 30 years. It appears ready to topple at any moment, the author says, and is very dirty, yet it remains upright.
The author reports that the energy at the site is extremely nasty and concludes with a series of questions: whether any psychics can identify it, where the gate leads, and whether it could be a fairy gate. The post includes no mundane explanation, such as a landmark, folk carving or boundary marker, and at the time of writing the question of the gate's destination remains open.
