Body Heard Plunging From Ceiling in Austin Rental; Floor Found Empty
A Reddit poster says a morning crash, a locked window and a growling dog preceded the discovery that nobody was home, and that similar noises have since followed to a new address.
AUSTIN, TEXAS — A Reddit user posting to r/Paranormal under the title "Has This Happened to You?" has described a pair of unexplained household disturbances, the first of which, the author says, occurred during a stay at an Airbnb home in Austin, Texas.
According to the post, the writer was in the house one morning when the sound of a body falling violently from the ceiling onto the living room floor came through the walls. The author says it sounded as though the figure struck furniture on the way down. The writer locked the bedroom door, put on shoes, and prepared to leave through the window, but could not lift the dog out, and found the window secured by security locks.
A relative was on the telephone at the time and was given the pin to the author's location, with instructions to call the authorities. It was this relative, the post states, who asked whether the Airbnb might be haunted. Hearing nothing in the adjoining room, the author decided to investigate, hair standing up on the back of the neck. The post says there was nobody in the home. The writer adds that there are videos of the dog barking and growling at the ceiling, though none accompanied the post as scraped.
The account then moves to the present. Last month, in a new home, the author reports hearing an object smash loudly onto the floor, pieces scattering, which startled both the writer and a cat. A search of the room turned up nothing. The author and a partner have also heard what is described as marbles rolling and objects falling, without any physical evidence.
The post offers no explanation for either episode and closes by asking readers whether they have had similar experiences.
