Substack Author Announces Premiere Party for Video on 'Darkly Real' Story Behind The Exorcist
Christopher Knowles of The Secret Sun invites readers to an evening screening, offering only a cryptic remark about books and their covers.
THE INTERNET — Christopher Knowles, author of the Substack publication The Secret Sun, has announced a premiere party for a new video concerning what he describes as the "really dark (and darkly real) true story" behind The Exorcist, a film he calls the greatest horror movie ever made.
The announcement, published as part of a seasonal series titled "Secret Shocktober," was brief in the extreme. The author invited readers to join him for the debut that same evening, and declined to elaborate on the substance of the video's claims.
"All I'll say for now is that sometimes you CAN judge a book by its cover," Mr. Knowles writes, leaving readers to puzzle over whether the remark refers to a literal book, a film poster, or some other object entirely. The post does not say.
The video appears to be offered through The Secret Sun Extension School, which the post describes as a reader-supported publication. Readers are invited to consider becoming subscribers in order to support the work.
No details of the video's contents, its sources, or the nature of the "true story" it purports to tell were included in the announcement. This newspaper will await the screening, and the book cover, with interest.
