FBI Silent on Why Agents With Thermal Gear Were Posted Where Black Triangle Rose
Released Pentagon and Bureau records describe a silent delta-shaped object over a western ridgeline, but the Bureau says it has nothing to add.
WESTERN UNITED STATES — The Federal Bureau of Investigation has declined to explain why its agents, equipped with optical and thermal surveillance gear, were stationed at observation posts on a sensitive national security site in the western United States, where they report having seen a silent black triangular object. According to Liberation Times, which put its questions to the Bureau, the National Press Office replied that it had "nothing additional to add to the documents."
The documents in question were released by the Department of War on 23 October as part of its seventh tranche of UAP files. They consist of an FBI statement and a witness debrief by the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office, or AARO. The date, location and identities of those involved are redacted, though the incident is said to have occurred in 2026. AARO describes the assignment as routine observation support.
According to the memorandum, two agents at a primary post and a third at a separate post, scanning west with long-range thermal equipment, were in radio contact. The third detected the object and alerted the others. The pair crossed the hilltop for a western view, and because the terrain prevented quick repositioning of the tripod-mounted system, one advanced with binoculars and a handheld thermal monocular.
The agents described a substantial, nonreflective black object resembling a delta wing drone, with a wingspan estimated at nine to fifteen feet. AARO's account says it rose vertically for about ten seconds to an estimated 200 to 300 feet, hovered for roughly twenty seconds without drift, then accelerated sharply, banked and descended into a canyon, vanishing within two or three seconds. The agents reported hearing nothing. One wrote that the object appeared hotter than ambient temperature with a uniform thermal signature and no visible exhaust gases.
