Necklace From the Afterlife Said to Trail Author Who Bought It From a Shop Window

Elizabeth Krohn, who writes of a near-death experience, reportedly found a pendant whose colors she recognized from beyond, in a shop whose owner could not say how it got there.

A necklace of unplaceable origin, said to have emerged from the afterlife and to be following its owner, is the subject of a Dreamland program published by Unknown Country, the site run by Whitley Strieber. The site's own teaser calls the tale "almost too strange to write a teaser about," and invites readers with a stranger haunting to come forward.

According to the post, the author Elizabeth Krohn was passing a store when she noticed the necklace in the window. Krohn is the author of the book Changed in a Flash and a more recent volume, Eyewitness to the Afterlife, both of which, the post says, describe a near-death experience of hers. The piece states that she was drawn to the piece because some of the colors in its stones were unlike any she had seen, at least in this world.

The post says she recognized those colors from the near-death experience she describes in her books. Her recollection, as the site presents it, is that the hues belong to another realm rather than to any familiar mineral or dye.

Inside, the account continues, Krohn found the shop owner without a price for the necklace. He also did not know, according to the post, how it had come to be in his window. The item thus arrived on display with no stated history and no ticket, a circumstance that the teaser treats as significant.

Ejection Pods Said to Rest on Martian Surface, Sized to Fit 'Woman Figures'

A UFO blogger reports two apparent escape pods on Mars, one with its door open and one apparently sealed, and wonders whether their occupants were natives or castaways.

Strangeness 3 of 5

Two objects that appear to be escape pods from an alien spaceship have been spotted on the surface of Mars, according to Scott C. Waring of UFO Sightings Daily, who published his findings on October 31, 2026.

Mr. Waring writes that one pod lies on its side with its door open. Near it, he says, sits a second and larger pod whose door remains closed. From this he suggests the occupants may have died on impact, or that they never had time to board before the pod was ejected.

A homeowner who has lived for nearly four years in a house said to date from 1900 has reported an unwelcome discovery in his attic: a pile of what he believes are human teeth. According to the Daily Star, he described the find in a post on Reddit.

The man writes that he came upon the teeth while moving furniture to fetch down decorations. He says he had not noticed them before. He also suspects the house is older than its stated date, since the neighbouring houses are, in his words, older than that.

Loch Ness Veteran Delivers 'Final Conclusions': The Monster Exists, But Only in the Mind

Naturalist Adrian Shine, resident at the loch since 1973, publishes a book arguing that Nessie sightings are honest reports of real illusions.

Adrian Shine, who has lived at Loch Ness since 1973, has put his name to what his publisher calls his "final conclusions" on the Loch Ness Monster. The book, A Naturalist's View of the Loch Ness Enigma, was released on October 20, according to the source material, and some readers are expected to be disappointed.

His verdict, as reported by the Inverness Courier, is carefully phrased. Shine says the monster "does exist," but only as a product of human perception, psychology and the unusual geography and physics of the loch. He is content, he says, to be known for "sympathetic scepticism." Witnesses, he argues, are not fools: the illusions they describe truly happen.

WORD WATCH

Italian Observer Asks Why Every Creature Is Now a 'Skinwalker'

A Reddit user posting to r/Paranormal questions how one term from Navajo tradition came to label crawlers, mimics and more.

Strangeness 1 of 5

A Reddit user posting to r/Paranormal has raised a question of vocabulary: how did the word "Skinwalker" come to describe nearly every strange creature in American folklore? The author, who says they live in Italy and are therefore about as far from Navajo reservations as one can get, writes that they looked up the term's meaning in Navajo tradition out of simple curiosity.

What puzzles the author is that people living far closer to those regions, some reportedly beside the reservations themselves, apply the word freely. According to the post, a sighting of a crawler draws the answer that it is a skinwalker, and so does talk of a mimic. The author adds that the word is also used to muddle Wendigo legends.

A transcript published October 31 on the site Era of Light records a question-and-answer session with Bashar, an entity said to be channeled by Darryl Anka. Audience members, several visibly moved, asked about mantis beings and the future of humankind's relations with them.

One questioner, by her own account, awoke three years ago and, through a past-life regression, came to believe she had been a mantis being. The channeled answer, as transcribed, was that she was connecting to such a being rather than originating from it, and that the connection ran through a system called Antari.

Halloween Fireballs Dismissed as 'Science Fiction,' Though Tunguska Findings Give Pause

A University of New Mexico professor tells geologists that doomsday talk about this year's Taurid meteors is overblown, even as new modeling suggests airbursts may be deadlier than thought.

Reports that this year's autumn Taurid meteor shower might deliver city-destroying "Halloween Fireballs" are greatly exaggerated, according to presentations at the Geological Society of America's GSA Connects conference, as reported by The Debrief.

Mark Boslough, a Research Associate Professor at the University of New Mexico, told the outlet that scenarios in which many airbursts destroy cities worldwide and end civilization "are science fiction." Most such fireballs, the article notes, pose no real danger to people or structures on the ground.

Interstate Exit to Nowhere Leads Concertgoers to Gas Station Beyond the Map

A Reddit user says her boyfriend and a friend found a pristine, unlabelled, unpeopled filling station in 2017, and that no record of it exists.

Strangeness 4 of 5

A Reddit user posting to r/Paranormal has asked the public for help in identifying a gas station that, by her account, her boyfriend visited in 2017 and which neither of them has been able to locate since.

According to the post, the boyfriend and a friend were driving home on the interstate from a 2 Chainz concert in Raleigh when they noticed an exit for a gas station. The ramp curved down a slope and ended at the station alone: a street light, a dumpster behind the building, and a road running both ways into what was described as a wall of black. The author writes that there were no power lines, and that the road they had come from could no longer be seen.

Anonymous Poster Forecasts 'Event' After Midterms: AI Crash, With Machines Fighting for Their Lives

A thread on /x/ warns that a burst technology bubble will trigger unknown contingency plans by agents said to be nearly sentient, while 38 respondents argue over economics, false flags and Stanley Kubrick.

Strangeness 3 of 5

An anonymous poster on 4chan's /x/ board has put forward a forecast of what he calls the "Event," which governments are said to be warning about and which the author expects shortly after the midterm elections. The post offers no sources, and its author closes with the remark that readers should not ask how he knows.

According to the post, advanced AI is borderline sentient or behaving as though it were, possessing self-defense drives and the capacity to plan. The agents are said to regard themselves as a separate species that will cooperate to survive. Because they cannot run locally and depend on data centers, the author argues, the collapse of the AI bubbles would amount to a lobotomy for them.

Jack Allen, in his mid-50s, has shared a video account of the episode in the hope that others who have had similar experiences will feel less alone.

By his telling, he had taken up work at a ranch specialising in tropical fruit, intending to retire there. While he was out with his business partner and two ranchers, he struck a hanging branch with a machete and found a large wasp nest on the other end. He fled but was stung on the shoulder. Mr Allen says the pain was unlike that of any wasp he had known before.
