Vallée Closes the Books on Seven Volumes of 'Forbidden Science'
The veteran ufologist's final journal volume prompts a round of interviews and reviews on disclosure, artificial intelligence and a tree-bark mystery from Louisiana.
THE INTERNET — Dr. Jacques Vallée, long regarded as one of the elder statesmen of ufology, is the subject of a fresh cluster of interviews and commentary, according to a digest published by The Anomalist and originally reported by KLAS-TV. The occasion is the release of Forbidden Science 7: Final Report: The Journals of Jacques Vallee 2020-2025, the closing volume of a personal record that, the digest says, follows his observations of the UFO field and his part in it from 1956. All seven volumes were issued by Anomalist Books.
Ron Futrell, the digest reports, presents two interviews. In the shorter, George Knapp praises the new book for its artistry. Dr. Vallée, according to the summary, describes the state of French UFO and UAP investigation and his new roles in it, and says he hopes to draw more academic disciplines into the subject. He also argues that disclosure, in whatever form it takes, will change humanity in ways not yet understood.
The longer interview, the digest states, has Mr. Futrell and Mr. Knapp recalling their exchanges with Dr. Vallée. Topics include why extraterrestrial crashes might occur, the worldwide interest in UFOs, Dr. Vallée's "Control System" theory, and the candor of the journals.
A podcast episode from the UAP Files, titled "Jacques Vallée: AI Could Contact UFOs Before We Do!", is said to explore a disclosure scenario that might prove more frightening than imaginable. The digest offers no further detail on the argument.
Finally, Bill Chalker has published what he calls a skewed review of the final volume, mixing personal reminiscence with analysis. He recalls the late Ted Phillips, described as a master of close-encounter trace cases, and dwells on analysis of tree bark. This bears on the December 30, 1966, Haynesville, Louisiana, event, which the digest says Dr. Condon could not explain and which Dr. Vallée has lately been scrutinizing.
